THOMPSON, THOMAS - Listed on page 42 as one of the men of Captain Joseph B. Chance’s Washington Company who was detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg, April 21, 1836.

One Thomas Thompson came to Texas in 1829, as is stated in the headright certificate issued to him January 18, 1838 for one-third of a league of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for Matagorda County. He was a brother of Isham and Charles B. Thompson.
One Thomas Thompson came to Texas in December 1824 as is shown in Headright Certificate No. 79 issued to him May 12, 1838 for one labor of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for Fayette County. He was living in Fayette County May 12, 1838 when he sold the certificate to Silas Dinsmore of Matagorda County.
One Thomas Thompson was issued Bounty Certificate No. 4040 for 1280 acres of land July 18, 1838 for having served in the army from December 10, 1836 to February 11, 1838. He was living in Harrisburg County July 18, 1838 when he sold the certificate to Samuel M. Frost for $500.
No one by the name of Thomas Thompson received bounty land for his services prior to April 21, 1836 or donation land.
