Pardon our Dust: New Exhibit and Revamped Show Cause Temporary Closures
The digitally remastered edition of Texas Forever!! The Battle of San Jacinto will soon be showing at the Jesse H Jones Theatre for Texas Studies in the San Jacinto Monument. Funded by the Houston Endowment, the revamped show will allow more groups to see the award-winning presentation, and will restore color and sound. In order to install new equipment and perform tests, the theatre will be closed from August 15 through August 22.
Texas Originals: Real and Imagined, on loan from the Witte museum, will open to the public on September 4, 2004. In order to install the exhibit, minor construction will be started within the main exhibit gallery on August 2. Portions of the gallery will remain open throughout the construction, except on August 13, when the entire gallery will be closed.
The observation floor, exhibit space in the elevator lobby, and the museum store will remain open. For more information, check the calendar or call 281-479-2421.
