The Official State of Texas ceremony commemorating the 168th anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto will be held at the Battleground on April 21, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. with Ron Stone as the emcee. The ceremony will begin with a musical prelude, and will include a salute by the Texas Army, and the announcement of the DRT Scholarship and SRT Essay Winners. General Houston's Battle Report will be given by Sam Houston IV, and special guests will be the officers and crew of the USS San Jacinto. The event is free to the public.
