San Jacinto Day Festival and Battle Reenactment

Saturday, April 21, 2012. 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.  Free to the Public

Live the History!

We are thrilled to invite you to participate in the annual San Jacinto Day Festival and Battle Reenactment.  This year's event marks the 176th Anniversary of Texas Independence and record attendance is anticipated!  More than 20,000 visitors joined us at the San Jacinto Monument for the Festival in 2011.  Highlights of the Festival include family entertainment, living history demonstrations, a children's area and vendors reflecting all things Texas.  In the late afternoon, the largest battle reenactment in the state celebrates the 1836 Battle of San Jacinto.

Each year, this event is presented by the San Jacinto Museum of History Association to help make history come alive.  It is the Museum Association's mission to reinforce classroom teaching and the public's knowledge of Texas history.  By participating in the Festival, you can help us meet this goal.

Volunteers are critical to the success of the San Jacinto Day Festival.  Please consider being a part if this fun day.  As a volunteer, you will learn how Texas won its independence.  You will also meet new people, feel good about giving back to your community, and, most importantly, have fun!  For information about being a volunteer on April 20 and/or April 21, 2012, see the Call for Volunteers and Volunteer Application below.

Vendors also play an important role in making the Festival exciting to the visitors who attend.  Please see the Call for Vendors information sheet  and Vendor Applicaiton below, and call or email us with any specific questions.  Space is limited.  All reservations must be submitted and paid for by April 1, 2012.  Your reservation is confirmed with receipt of your application and payment.  Applications are processed and accepted in the order received.  To insure your spot - send today.  (Applications can be faxed to: 210.824.9318.)

On behalf of the San Jacinto Museum of History Association we invite you to participate in this year's event.  Through your help we can continue to accelerate the momentum we have built steadily, year after year.  We look forward to a successful Festival in 2012.

Best Regards,
