Description

Masonic apron. Cream silk apron with printed design and attached strings. Illustrations include: two pillars with globes; checkerboard floor with opened book, page heading "ST. JOHN Chap. X.V."; tools of the craft; the bee hive; sun and moon; skull and crossbones. Printed between the two pillars: "SIT LUX ET LUX FU IT/ Hail Heavenly Virtue, Thine's a Sacred Flame!!" Artist's name appears at lower center: M. Peabody. Fair condition. Top portion torn. Losses (shedding) at edges, fragile silk. Wrinkling, folds, and tears.
